| Home: About Me
My name is David Leetham and I live in Flagstaff, Arizona - one of the
nicest towns around.
My interests are widely varied, from antique book collection to Pocket PCs. I am also an avid amateur
photographer and astronomer. I went completely digital with my photography in early 2002, which was
quite a step, and just recently upgraded to a digital SLR. I'll continue to post some of my work
on this site. What gets me around the places I go for photography? Why, a Jeep, of course (and sometimes
a little black Honda Accord Coupe)! I'm also a student of the New
York Institute of Photography.
My real passion in life is animal rescue. I've been working in this area for some time now, and
ran my own wolf dog rescue for several years. I am also on the board of directors of Arizona Siberian
Husky Rescue and Adoption, Inc. (ASHRA). There is nothing I enjoy more than working with dogs and
wolves.
I also enjoy amateur astronomy. I am unable to observe regularly due to my disability, but I get
out when I can. starting to try my luck with astrophotography. Visit my astronomy page (back on-line
soon!) for more information.
My parents also live in Arizona. You won't find a better set of parents
around.
My 12-year IT career spanned everything from PC and network support to development to database
analysis and administration. In 2002 I was seriously injured and was completely disabled by summer
2003, and I haven't worked since. What happened to me? I fell off a ladder and damaged my spine,
herniating 2 discs and knocking one vertebrae loose. In November 2002 I underwent an anterior and
posterior spinal fusion from L4-S1 to stabilize everything. While technically a success, I eventually
developed so much scar tissue it caused the same symptoms I originally suffered (pain), only worse.
So now I spend my days with my dogs or on the computer. A little time goes to developing and administering Wolf-Net and
its sites, which include Arizona Siberian Husky Rescue and Adoption, Inc. (ASHRA).
I'm not able to do as much for animal rescue as I used to, but ASHRA's web site has become its primary
link to potential adopters in Arizona. If you are looking for a good cause to support and would like
to make a tax-deductible donation, why not head over to ASHRA and
make a donation today? |
